Portraits

Mother TeresaScan-140920-0001 I had presented a portrait of Mother Teresa to the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Honorable S.S. Ray was the ambassador of India at the time and showed the portrait to a visiting Mother Teresa. She looked at the portrait and said “I want to be seen with a child, and not just by myself.” She gave the ambassador a black and white flyer from her Nobel Prize acceptance speech at Oslow. The embassy called and informed me that she requested that I reproduce the picture in color, and that is how this portrait came to be. I visited her at The Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta and gave her a copy of the portrait. She sent me this wonderful letter that I will cherish throughout my life.
