Personal Statement of the Artist

The beauty of art to me is the resolute philosophy across multiple mediums that evoke as well as convey the deepest, sublime conceptions in the social, historical, natural and often in personal and intimate contexts.
My work invokes statements embodying personal and cultural circumstances. They reflect my responses and insights to some South Asian culture, norms, and practices as experienced during various times of my childhood and adult life. A piece of art, according to me, has to be understood on multiple levels of the aesthetic qualities, elements of art, composition, the mood or atmosphere it conveys, social influences and events of its time, consideration of the piece within the context of the artist’s life and approach to work.

I have included here my earlier work as well, to familiarize the viewers with the process of evolution of my work during various phases of my creative life!
